COMPUTING

At Shamblehurst, our computing curriculum equips children with the knowledge, skills and confidence to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

From the earliest years, pupils learn to use technology purposefully and safely, developing their understanding of devices, digital tools and online behaviours. As they progress through the school, children create digital art, write and present information, analyse data, produce multimedia content, explore coding and robotics, and develop their understanding of networks, artificial intelligence, programming and emerging technologies.

Through a carefully sequenced curriculum, pupils learn to think computationally, solve problems creatively and become responsible digital citizens. Online safety, media literacy, cyberbullying prevention, privacy and digital wellbeing are woven throughout every year group, ensuring children understand how to stay safe, respectful and balanced in their use of technology both in and beyond the classroom.
