MUSIC
Music is an integral and highly valued part of the Shamblehurst Primary School community, where a strong, inclusive and aspirational culture of music-making continues to grow. Music is a source of awe and wonder across the school and is widely celebrated by pupils, staff and families, with consistently positive parental feedback.
Our curriculum aims to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music, increasing their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement, in line with the National Curriculum. We are committed to ensuring that there are no barriers to participation, so that every child can experience the joy, creativity and sense of belonging that music provides.
We provide a practical, inclusive curriculum: children learn about music through active participation in performing, composing and listening. Alongside this, music plays a high-profile role across the wider life of the school through performances, instrumental opportunities and enrichment experiences.
